Is wifi working? no way for me!

As I see there is a patch on the [1] , using this patch, there is no way to
connect to wlan.
Without that patch, I can connected but I cannot see any site etc. (cant
get DNS?)

Can you please share how did you managed to connect on wlan?

Thanx in advance

chris

PS I am using the 16032009 binary.

Hi Chris,

what kernel are you using ?

On 2.6.28/29 (not sure about older ones) there is the usb bug (OM ticket
2254) that does not detect when usb disconnects. So once connected trough
usb, the interface stays 'up', even if no longer connected, and the fr
keeps trying to route packets trough it. This is causing other media
(wifi, GPRS) not to work. A simple workaround is to issue an 'ifdown usb0'
in a terminal.

Cheers,

Filip.

AT%N0187 is not canceled by susped/resume. At least it wasnt in my
experiments. I attempted to place AT%N0187 after call, but it seems
to be quite complicated. The solution _before_ call is probably good
enough (at least for now).

Hi HouYu and Chris,
i am using QTE from your git repo. For me the echo cancellation patch
does work just for outgoing calls. If someone calls me, he has still
echo.

I think that the AT%N0187 is not sent before incoming call. The patch
adds it to many places, but the only right place IMO is before outgoing
and incoming call.

The outgoing is ok - it's function dialVoiceCommand(). The incoming -
i am not sure yet which function is the right place.

As first experiment i have put it in abortDial() function. Now if i
hang up (abort) dialing the AT%N0187 is sent and next incoming call is
without echo. I can even suspend my phone and the AT%N0187 effect
remains.

I am attaching my patch. My next step is to find a function that is
called before incoming call and send AT%N0187 there.

Hi,

next to the echo cancellation fix, is there a fix for receiving
incoming call twice problem?
IIRC there was also a problem with the device not waking up from
suspend when an alarm was due (the alarm was on time once after a
reboot, but never again after that). Maybe this is already fixed in the
final 4.4.3 release (I filed a bug report for that at Qt some months
ago ...)?
Since qtextended is the only release with a good working pim (for now),
I'm very interested in any future development here.

Does this release needs a firmware upgrade (moko11) or is this not
needed?

Any sane distro should use a fixed GSM firmware. The latest version is

Now that we have last release from Nokia would it be possible
to setup public repository with patches from comunity?

I would like to contribute, but i am not aware of any place

Could we have e.g. git repository with latest enhancements

Note that what I'm pushing is *not* 4.4.3, it's the original 4.4.2 with an

Re: [QtExtended] Qt Extended 4.4.3 released

2009-03-05 Thread HouYu Li
I have tried wifi. Everything seems OK. I can visit Google and Facebook as
expected. Did not check whether resolv.conf is updated properly. But I am
not able to delete the created Wireless Lan profile. Haven't tried the GPRS
connection.
Yes. I am using fso rootfs.

can you try to set up a wlan connection (or a gprs one) and check if
resolv.conf gets updated properly? that's one of the biggest flaws that
 old QtE had
the rootfs you're using is fso, right?

Just had a test. Echo is there, and incoming call is received twice. I
am using rootfs and kernel from openmoko daily build 20090120. So the

That's a shame! There is an unofficial git repository here:

git://git.asheesh.org/qtopia_snapshot.git

but it's still just 4.4.2 at the moment (hasn't changed for 4 months). :-(

cheers,
Chris
