Perhaps you need to install those too?

 opkg list_installed | egrep

I have noone of them installed on SHR-testing, but they're not on SHR repos.

 encodings - 1:1.0.2-r0 -
 font-adobe-75dpi - 1:1.0.0-r0 -
 font-alias - 1:1.0.1-r0 -
 font-util - 1:1.0.1-r1 -

I've tried to get them installed from OM repos, but it generates lots of
errors and, most important,
a dependency _hell_. So, anyone, has managed to get this workig simply on
SHR-testing?

 Kind regards,
 Ed

Hi Leonti,

Did you restart X?
I also tell the X server to explicitly use a fontpath:
in /etc/X11/Xserver change the line with
ARGS=blahdieblah
to
ARGS= -pn +extension Composite -nolisten tcp -fp
/usr/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi,/usr/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi,built-ins

restart X and rejoice !
( i hope ;-) )

Kind regards,
Ed

btw you can start xboard with another font if you like, check out the
man page at

isn't there some configuration available, to change the font?
you could try xfontsel to see, if any font installed matches the pattern
