My method for this would be to: - run aptitude - find the "hal" package - press Enter to bring up a new screen with detailed information for that package. Then, at or near the bottom, you should see the available versions, including 0.5.13-6. Move down to that line and press + to tell aptitude that you want to install that version. If you don't see that version, I would guess that you need to update your /etc/apt/sources.list so that it includes the Debian "testing" repository as well as "unstable", then run "apt-get update" or "aptitude update" to update your package information, then retry as above.
