Re: QtMoko docs online

Hi Rafa

The new keyboard with big keys is the first version of such
idea. So, obviously, you could find bugs.

I think it is a great improvement to qtmoko as it is already. Personally,
I'd like to see extra keys to make it useful on the console as well as for
sms.

At the moment there are 2 views with different keys, using "sh" to move
between them. maybe there is an option of a third view which had the numbers
+ important stuff for the console (tab complete, bash history, path
separator) on a third view.

I think then the other keyboards would be no longer necessary and the
slightly irritating procedure to switch between them would be done away with
as well.

The new keyboard with big keys is the first version of such

We just took another keyboard code, removed some stuff,
did the keys bigger, and added the autorotate. I was
thinking on that idea for sms only (I use it much with
mobile communications prices in Argentina). Another extra
idea for this keyboard is to remove the number keys. What
do you think?. That would do the keys bigger yet, which
is the main goal of this new thing.

Rafa

Radek

Thanks for the latest freerunner release

Here's some quick reaction that may be helpful:-

Only way I could do the upgrade from v35 was to wget the v37 deb and install
with

dpkg -i

Not sure why I could not apt-get as I seemed to have the repository correct.

At first it looked a bit doubtful that this had gone cleanly, but after the
reboot I have the new big keyboard which is great.

A wish list would be to add a few extra keys and make it useful with the
terminal - I'm thinking tab complete, ^ for bash history and / path separator.

Now I go to test some more :)

Again thanks for your work
