Please file an RFP (request for package) or ITP (intent to package) bug at Debian. That would be the first step to get it into the OS. Re: [Tinkerphones] Antwort: Re: Antwort: Re: Librem 5
Quoting Jonas Smedegaard: The fate of Librem 5 hangs on multiple (arguably thin) threads, one of which being existence of Phone-oriented software for Mainline linux, and if geeks had access *soon* to a tinkerphone, that would likely boost developer time poured into KDE and GNOME and Enlightenment and other efforts in supporting Phone environments. Please don't forget the Pyra here :~) It's not a phone, but it is a small, mobile device, sharing many properties with the devices discussed here. Progress with every such device helps the others, too. Pyra still fights mould problems and 4 GiB, however, AFAIK. ___ Community mailing list Community@tinkerphones.org http://lists.goldelico.com/mailman/listinfo.cgi/community http://www.tinkerphones.org

I pledged for the developer board, because I want to be sure, that "my" Debian packages will run fine on it. Also, I will try to use it as a landline SIP phone and XMPP terminal. Still, as a mobile device, I find other devices more interesting than Librem 5. E.g. ZeroPhone, because it is cheap and simple or Pyra, because it has a nice keyboard. A very good thing about Librem 5 is, IMHO, that it has the potential to boost Linux on mobile devices in general. All other "non-Android-Linux" devices will benefit from it.
