Please stop sowing the seed of division. Asking questions in an open and
transparent community is perfectly ok.

Whether ASO or board one is always still a stakeholder.

Yes, you are. And in response, I am seeking legal advice about whether or not
to publish the names of closed members. Please be patient.

Hi Alan

You clearly did not inform the Community about your decision not to publish the
list of closed members after 2014?

So while you are seeking legal advice on your two years old decision, can you
please respond to the other 3 questions below?

1. How many members have been closed in 2015,2016 and 2017?

2. How much ressources have been recovered since?

3. Where are the recovered ressources listed in Afrinic pool of ressources?

Janvier,

New comer to what ? How can you be this clueless considering you are a
former board member. Like i said, you are clearly mis-informed. So I
should not ask questions I deem relevant to this community because of some
so called double hat, whatever that means!

I promised to work for the best interest of the AFRINIC community and that
is what I will continue to do.

Mine is to represent the interest of AFRINIC and its mandate and part of it
includes holding each other accountable to those we serve (the community
and membership).

Do yourself a favour and go back to the genesis of this thread and you will
realise the entire discussion started with me asking questions ref: the
2016 financial statements which have led us here. This was before the
community elected me to the ASO seat and shall continue because I am a
believer of accountability and transparency when it comes to dealing with
public matters.

You seem to be the only one who prefers secrecy and some exclusive club way
of doing things yet this are issues of public interest. AFRINIC is not
someone's private company, its a Not-For-Profit organisation in existance
to serve the AFRICAN community by distributing number resources and
maintaining the database.

I didnt have to send the CEO some private email to seek answers yet he has
promised to get back to me and this is how things are done Janvier.

As such, I refuse your misguided advice and I will wait for the CEO's
response to the questions I seek answers too.

Dear Alan,
Thank you for your replies. The community is interested and should know
who has right to use INRs and whose rights have ended. We are not
interested in the reasons of termination of these rights.

Ability to publicly track history of right to use of INRs is very
important. We will welcome AFRINIC working on a "whowas project" as in

Truebut like Noah says, the list was published till 2014 so it is curious
that we need to seek legal advice now.

One would assume that it would have aready have been sought to stop publishing
so readily available but I also look forward to the CEO's feedback.

I’ll find out. I don’t see a privacy concern in reporting the total amount of
recovered space.

As I said, I am seeking legal advice on whether or not information about closed
memebrs may be published.

In my opinion, there shouldn't be a privacy issue in providing the _number_ of
members resources have been recovered from; exactly as for the amount of
recovered space. Is legal advice really needed for this?

The CEO did not say that he cannot provide the __number__ of members. Indeed he
said he is working on that.

in his words .. "I’ll find out. I don’t see a privacy concern in reporting the
