Making a clean and easy viewable overview page in the wiki

2008-08-06 Thread Rorschach
Hi, I started today an overview page in the wiki: http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Overview . It's supposed to be clean and easy viewable so everyone can fast find the information he's looking for. I have my freerunner just since this morning so I haven't done much in the wiki until now but I'm

Freerunner ?hibernates? while flashing?

2008-08-07 Thread Rorschach
Hi, when I go into the NOR-Flash to flash my rootfs or the kernel and I do nothing for ~30 sec the screen gets dark. What happens? Is it just hibernating or shutting down? I have to press the aux-button a lot but this is really annonying. But the real question: what happens if I flash an image

Om 2008.8 doesn't ask for my pin so no gsm available but 2007 and FSO 2 do?

2008-08-08 Thread Rorschach
I flashed the new kernel and image but if I boot now I'm not getting asked for a pin. There's no gsm in 2008.8 for me but with 2007 Image or the FSO 2 GSM is working just fine. Wheren can I look for the problem? There are no logs in /var/log and also dmesg| grep -i gsm shows absolutly nothing.

A little zenity-gui for flashing images to the neo

2008-08-11 Thread Rorschach
Hi, I was bored and just wrote a little zenity-gui for flashing images to the neo: http://paste.ubuntuusers.de/391300/ . For the zenity-gui you need of course zenity and a bash-shell. To make the progress-bar work you need to patch dfu-util: $ diff dfu-util/src/sam7dfu-old.c

2008-08-11 Thread Rorschach
Thanks Norbert very much for finally finding the real problem with the pin dialog not appearing! Removing this makes the pin-dialog appear for me with !!every boot!! now ca. 15-20 sec after x started. Before this patch the pin-dialog just appeared 1 out of 40 boots! This is a big improvment.
