using compiz in Ubuntu Karmic 9.10, i often plug my laptop (Dell
Inspiron 1525) to a HD TV or larger screen. when doing so, after
pressing the Fn+F8 combo (as coded in the laptop) the screen reduces the
resolution to 1024x768 (or

Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention. However, a paper cut
should be a small usability issue, in the default Ubuntu install, that
affects many people and is quick and easy to fix. So this bug can't be
addressed as part of this project.

As the description tells, I am experiencing compiz crashes now and then.
It always happens when switching from or too fullscreen apps like Cedega or
World of Goo.

I can confirm this. Using CCSM 0.8.2 on Kubuntu 9.10/KDE 4.3.3, even
just ticking the checkbox to enable Desktop Cube (and disable Desktop
Wall) will simply unset itself in front of my eyes within seconds. This
is incredibly frustrating.

After some observation it appears that everything is being reset to
default settings - Snapping Windows gets turned back on, Desktop Size is
reset, etc.

My laptop has an external monitor attached via a VGA port. The main
display (with Gnome panel etc) is the laptop screen and the external
monitor is configured as being the left-most display.
Most applications launch on the active display, however
You should really consider lowering the opening/close animations to 200
and minimize to 300. The animations are so quick at this point they
seem to stutter. I have a decent graphics card and have been running
Compiz some time. These settings are quite nice. This gives a nice
transitioning
Er... a restart fixed it. Sorry about that, should have tried that
first. FWIW, the problem occurred immediately after installation.
