No, I've installed Unity 7.2.3 from trusty/proposed, but that did not
fix my issue.
However I don't believe that this is the same bug. By looking at his
screenshot, you can see that the line of pixels is separating his *dash*
from the launcher, not his launcher and other windows (content).

dconf reset -f /org/compiz/
which resets compiz settings (maybe they were messed up during distro
update vom 12.04). So it is probably not a bug...
