Initially I changed this bug to invalid, but after reading through the
comments I changed it back to fix committed, as I hadn't updated the
initial description with what the actual problem was.
The actual problem exposed in this report was that the backends were not
being installed

Hey Julian,
I did some investigation into this this week and have something which
may or may not fix your problem. At the moment, Amarok just sigabrt's
for me close to startup (it attempts to configure a window that doesn't
exist and does a whole bunch of other bad stuff).
Incidentally, it does

Hmm, it has been actually.
I've not run into this for a long time however though. I can do another
rebuild and see if its still a problem (on the initially maximized
condition)

Actually, it appears as though the default is to use the gsettings
backend. So if it is complaining about a missing gconf backend then you
likely just need to remove any local configuration that would have made
it used that (now that it is removed by default).

Can't reproduce this one either. Just with gnome-panel, compiz and the
lockscreen.
If you have something underneath the lock screen that's doing a lot of
repaints (eg a browser spinner or something) then that will cause lots
of wakeups.

The fix for java awoke some sleepers. Actually DecorWindow::update is
such a bloody mess, I wish we could do something about it / get it under
test.
