I have created a userland application that resets this behavior in
several Microsoft Mice on boot.
I have confirmed it works in Microsoft Wirless Mice Models 3500 5000.
If you able to compile an application with a configure script, you can
download the source code here:
- Setting Wait for vertical refresh to On, unless application specifies
doesn't work.
- But setting enable Force full screen redraw (buffer swap) on repaint in
CCSM does work.
strace shows that compiz loops on

By observing shotwell with some debugging, I noticed that compiz simply
sets the window height (CompWindow) invalidly for some cases. That's a

John Lea pointed out in chat today that except for the Show Desktop
shortcut, the other keyboard shortcuts mentioned in the bug are new to
12.04 so there is no regression (except for beta users). I'll give my +1
from the Docs Team for those. I'll have to talk with dpm to see if this

I wrote the earlier thing wrongly - it's not the height/width that's
wrong. It's the window x that is incorrect, due to the decorator. So the
problem either lives in the decorator itself or the decorator plugin.
The buggy maximized windows have correct width, but the x parameter in

shortcut users would rather have that shortcut change once and for all.

When I press Alt plus any cursor key in quick succession, the HUD
erroneously appears. This steals focus and disrupts the workflow quite
severely. This was much worse in earlier Unity versions, 5.8 already
made this a lot better. But this case still
I didn't see the HUD all day yesterday, and neither today. So I cannot
reproduce this with 0.9.7.4 any more, so as soon as this lands in Ubuntu
the bug is fixed from my POV. Thanks!
