This is not an unusual story. Apple's excellent customer service will

2007-11-16 Thread Rev. Stewart Marshall
I have a 6 one that came with my Targus presentation mouse, Same
problem, overcrowding on the back of laptops with USB devices.

I use it when needed.

I just got a Dlink USB Wireless adapter for my TIVO. It has an
adapter that has about a 2 ft extension on it to plug the Adapter in
so it is not sticking in the back. I notice Dlink and Belkin include
these pretty much as standard with their USB adapters.

Smart Idea.

I think I got it at Staples. It was actually less than 2 total
length,
and had a joint in it so you could rotate the female part up or down
out of the plane of the male part. This would make nearby ports
more accessible, but that is not why I got it for him. He has bad
luck with flash drives, probably because he is not gentle enough
pulling them out of the computer and is breaking an internal
connection, so he now keeps his drive plugged into the extension.

Something else that would work is the travel USB cord that I got
at some airport store. It is a USB extension cord and the cord is
on a spring-loaded spool that is less than 6 at its shortest and
extends to 6'. It came with adapters to all the different USB
ends and was especially convenient for traveling when I had
two digital cameras with different types of USB sockets.

It's not unusual for me to have to reboot. Force quit

decipher the squiggles except for the middle one)

I've decided to rip the piles of CD's I have to make
them more accessible. I started doing this after I
installed Leopard. I had seen an occasional problem
before, it could be that since I'm in more of a
production mode now, I'm seeing it more. Are others
