Thanks for confirming our experience Tom. We thought we couldn't be happier with our computer experience before.. now we're closer to *knowing* we couldn't be happier with our computers. Re: [CGUYS] What a mess...
Thank you. I will do this. In themean time I discovered that if I connect my old Access Point (AMC) to the Linksys Wireless, the laptop will connect in a b network. So now I have the Linksys wireless sending info to the Lap Top that is connecting thorugh the old Access Point. Will disconnect the Access Point and most likely I will have the same problem: no connection with the workgroup coming from the Linksys. Hope I am clear... Followed all the instructions. Created a network group Pinetree07. I have now three computers wired and of course my daughter´s laptop wireless. Well, I spent the whoe day yesterday (it was a holiday here in Brazil) trying to make the laptop enter in the network no no avail. Yes I see that the laptop can see the Pinetree07 groupwork but when I try to enter...it doesn´t go; It has a safety with WEP. When I enter the WEP phrase the laptop says that it is wrong. I have tried everything. I am tired. Considering going back to my wired Netger and Access Point that at least worked. Any help? Thanks again! Re: [CGUYS] Short USB extension cord
I have a 6 one that came with my Targus presentation mouse, Same problem, overcrowding on the back of laptops with USB devices. I use it when needed. I just got a Dlink USB Wireless adapter for my TIVO. It has an adapter that has about a 2 ft extension on it to plug the Adapter in so it is not sticking in the back. I notice Dlink and Belkin include these pretty much as standard with their USB adapters. Smart Idea. Stewart At 02:57 PM 11/16/2007, you wrote: I got something like that for my son to use with his memory stick. I think I got it at Staples. It was actually less than 2 total length, and had a joint in it so you could rotate the female part up or down out of the plane of the male part. This would make nearby ports more accessible, but that is not why I got it for him. He has bad luck with flash drives, probably because he is not gentle enough pulling them out of the computer and is breaking an internal connection, so he now keeps his drive plugged into the extension. Something else that would work is the travel USB cord that I got at some airport store. It is a USB extension cord and the cord is on a spring-loaded spool that is less than 6 at its shortest and extends to 6'. It came with adapters to all the different USB ends and was especially convenient for traveling when I had two digital cameras with different types of USB sockets. Re: [CGUYS] Leopard.1
David K Watson I see in my inbox that Mark has just beat me to the announcement, but here are some extra details: snip I know that Apple makes no mistake, ooops, sorry, they very occasionally make a small mistep or two, but those are rare, etc.g I have recently started using iTunes to rip CD's. The drive itself is fine, I can look at DVD's with no problem, CD's iTunes are another issue. It's not unusual for me to have to reboot. Force quit isn't available (what's the key combination? I can't decipher the squiggles except for the middle one) I've decided to rip the piles of CD's I have to make them more accessible. I started doing this after I installed Leopard.
