My basic argument with the neocons (aside from their being moral pygmies) is that they were such terrible managers. It is so nice to see a new broom sweeping clean... VA halts 15 technology projects http://gcn.com/articles/2009/10/27/va-halts-it-projects.aspx?s=gcndaily_301009 A review of 45 suspended information technology projects at the Veterans Affairs Department has caused 15 projects to be stopped or have funding cut, according to W. Scott Gould, deputy secretary of the VA. Leaders of another 17 projects have committed to meeting milestones to deliver new functionality to customers, Gould said Oct. 26 at the Executive Leadership Conference in Williamsburg, Va. The remaining 13 projects have been re-planned or restarted, Gould said. The leaders of those 17 projects have been told “basically you’ve got 60 days. I have used Eudora for years and years. So far I have not crossed anything like it. When I do I guess I will change. In my opinion Mozilla could keep it as it was without any need to improve. Hush! We all know they're not developing or changing it anymore, but as long as it works, there are die-hard fans. It is a GOOD email program. Personally I don't want all the html junk that comes with most email programs. Eudora has great controls that no other email program has ever equaled, the main one being that attachments are detached from the emails so you don't have to keep a ton of mail in order to save attachments. If you really want to try using Eudora, go get Eudora 7.1.0.9--the last version of real Eudora. Download it and ask here for a key to upgrade it to the paid version. (Eudora is not for sale anymore). The keys are given for free now. You could also try Thunderbird with the Penelope extension, which is closer to the old Eudora than the newer Eudora8. Re: [CGUYS] Eudora 8, Beta 7
That sounds counter productive. Webmail requires lots of up time and connectivity to read and then save what is needed. Eudora simply connects and then disconnects. Back in the day I used to have it dial and connect download mail and disconnect. Do you have such large attachments and such that it takes a lot of time to download your mail? Otherwise like Is id sounds counter productive. Re: [CGUYS] Eudora 8, Beta 7
Uptime isn't the problem, it is speed of downloading the email. I found when I went from cable to horrid dsl, it took longer to start an email client, have it connect and download all the msgs then it did to just use gmail. To top that off my dsl provider doesn't offer email so I would need a web account anyway. I keep everything I can on the cloud, I have no need to keep email local. On Oct 30, 2009 9:43 PM, Rev.
