I believe that Apache IS the Operating System.

There's no benefit at all to someone that doesn't *need* Apache. Are
you a web developer? Do you write php code?
If not, then no, the average person doesn't need Apache. If yes then
you want to install 64 bit if you have a 64 bit system. I mean, define
benefit.
