[CGUYS] Bands folder?

2009-10-08 Thread David Cowdrill
Problem: I customarily backup to an attached drive using SuperDuper.
I tried Time Machine and it failed reporting not enough space. Using
OmniDiskSweeper I find that the biggest folder is 74 GB, named
bands; it has hundreds of 8 MB file with hexadecimal file names.

Question: what is bands? Can I delete it?

Very large files may be stored as a collection of smaller files. These
are called bands. When a part of that huge file changes only the
changed bands are copied.

It could be a very bad idea to delete this.
