FIREFOX AND FIREFOX EXTENSIONS
Speaker: Steve Auerbach
Independent Software Developer
The best thing about Firefox is that there are thousands of
extensions available to customize it--the very worst thing
about Firefox is that there are thousands of extensions
available.
We will discuss the differences between add-ons, plug-ins,
and extensions, and the extensions speaker Steve Auerbach
has installed on his laptop. Assuming the Internet
connectivity gods smile on us, we will explore the online
Firefox extension library. Those already having strong
opinions on extensions are urged to attend and share their
experiences so we all benefit.
Speaker: Steve Auerbach wrote his first computer program in
1962 for a high tech company in New York City: Macy's. After
Macy's he spent 7 years with IBM in various sales offices
doing technical support. He's been an independent software
developer since 1975, and still does some coding.
Steve volunteers at the Smithsonian Institution, helping out
where he can at http://www.ResidentAssociates.org.
Steve Auerbach has a BS from MIT and an MS from NYU, but, at
age 72, he says his college education is really old news.
