I'm not either but I'm not seeing any Comcast employees on this
list who are willing to engage and explain their corporate visions
and philosophy.

My position is well known and I think you all know that I'm not
about slamming the competition.  I think if you have a network
architecture that encourages bandwith saturation you will get it.

I think that a provider has to take these issues into account ahead
of time or else risk being seen as the bad guy when the technology
management gets out of hand.

What the Comcast guys are doing is exactly what I would do if I
were in their boat.  As a professional I would have no choice but
to pull the plug if a small number of users were overcoming my
bandwidth at the expense of the larger community of subscribers.

The cable delivery model is badly flawed in this respect.

But if I worked for Comcast I wouldn't do anything different.
