Re: [CGUYS] Local Area Connection 3 warning
Of course, it depends on what the warning says, but it sounds like your anti-virus program... Windows XP computer; Verizon DSL Sometimes I get a popup warning from the sys tray (lower right-hand side). What does this mean? Is a warn out ether cable a possible source? * ** List info, subscription management, list rules, archives, privacy ** ** policy, calmness, a member map, and more at http://www.cguys.org/ ** *
Re: [CGUYS] Local Area Connection 3 warning
Ya, you completely forgot to tell us what the notification is. Presumably it's just telling you a network connection is unavailable, which can be normal as long as it isn't the one you're using for the internet. You should be able to right click it and go to Properties and uncheck the box Notify me if no connection. On Mon, Jul 7, 2008 at 7:35 AM, Michael S. As I understand it, local area connection 3 is how my computer accesses DSL. Could the cable be defective? I used another cable but the problem persists. Thanks, Michael Michael S. Re: [CGUYS] Local Area Connection 3 warning
No. You completely missed the rest of my message. I had already assumed that was the error you were referring to. To reiterate, Windows is just telling you there's no connection on that device. But unless something has broken, you can safely ignore it. Or disable the message. On Mon, Jul 7, 2008 at 8:17 PM, Michael S.
