Many of you living in Maryland know that the sales tax rate is going
up from 5% to 6%. Those of you that don't: SURPRISE!
I've been tasked with changing the rate in Quickbooks. While I can
change the rate--it's easy enough--Maryland's tax table doesn't
exactly jibe with a real 6% rate.
Not having the full table, I can't answer the question definitively, but from
what you have there, it looks like Maryland is rounding up any fraction of a
penny whatsoever. (Quickbooks probably rounds to the nearest penny.)
I don't know what formula syntax Quickbooks may use, but in Excel
