It is a gadget that I can download with my Windows 7 desktop gadgets. I am not on that machine at present and will have to look at it when I get home. Re: [CGUYS] SMS on iPod Touch
I've been able to send texts from my computer for a long time. From Thunderbird or any email client or online, the address is [phone #] @ [cellular provider]. What I can't do is receive SMS texts. I'm looking for an app [computer or iPhone or Symbian or Android] that lets me receive the text messages without having to switch to email. Is there a way to _receive_ an incoming text without using email? Or is there a program that receives the email and treats it like an incoming text message to the sender? Betty mike xha...@gmail.com escribió: mydigitallife.info/2008/07/16/send-free-sms-text-messages-from-iphone-and-ipod-touch-via-aim-and-ichat/ That might be a good start for you. There are three ways to receive SMS messages using your computer / PC: 1) Connect a mobile phone or GSM/GPRS modem to a computer / PC. Then use the computer / PC and AT commands to get the received SMS messages from the mobile phone or GSM/GPRS modem. 2) Get access to the SMS center (SMSC) or SMS gateway of a wireless carrier. Any SMS messages received will be forwarded to your computer / PC using a protocol / interface supported by the SMSC or SMS gateway. 3) Get access to the SMS gateway of an SMS service provider. Any SMS messages received will be forwarded to your computer / PC using a protocol / interface supported by the SMS gateway. There are services that provide access to an SMS gateway. SMSs sent to the gateway are rerouted to your email or an inbox. http://www.ipipi.com/help/friends_send_sms.htm http://www.fabit.com/ http://www.labnol.org/gadgets/phones/send-receive-sms-text-messages-computer-internet/1493/ etc. * ** List info, subscription management, list rules, archives, privacy ** ** policy, calmness, a member map, and more at http://www.cguys.org/ ** *
