I had a Sharp cordless phone that had a battery charger for an extra battery in the base station. If my phone started beeping that the battery was low, I could switch batteries quickly and not lose the connection. It aged gracefully, too. After 10+ years I replaced it with a Panasonic DECT 6.0 model with 4 phones [KX 1034]. When one needs recharging, I can grab another one, but not often. Best thing about the Panasonic set is the batteries. Batteries ARE included--they're standard AA batteries that I will probably replace with Duracell when they die. Kudos to Panasonic for using standard, not proprietary batteries. I can buy 800 mAh or 2600 mAh batteries--my choice--at most local stores. For my cell phone, I got an OEM Nokia battery on eBay. I thought it was a lemon since it didn't hold a charge much longer than the old battery. However when we were in Europe last summer, the phone held its charge for a week instead of a couple of days. Our cellular service is so awful in the US-- it's not just because there are three incompatible systems, it's because of terrible coverage. My phone has to keep searching for a network, running down the battery, instead of finding a network then resting as it did while traveling. I've also had good luck on eBay using volume vendors with 99% ratings. Re: [CGUYS] cordless phone battery question
My cordless is a uniden ...it uses actually the same battery as some cell phones ...I do know the cell phone batteries have an ic chip in them to prevent overcharging ...you better check whether your cordless has that feature to make it go well with the charger stand ...mine does ...not all unidens do ...as for cellphones, my razr v3 came with 780mah battery ...I bought 1800mah batteries made in germany ...they have the ic chip feature or whatever it takes for the cell phone... They are the same size as the original reuqiring nothing new to put them in. They work great and give me longer service ...I've had them for years! -Original Message- From: Rev. Re: [CGUYS] cordless phone battery question
800's will work fine, if they fit in the space. there are a lot of counterfeit batteries out there. the counterfeit Nokia batteries even come with the nokia holo. batteries need cobalt to be high quailty. cobalt is expensive. cheap batteries = no cobalt. other than buying directly from mfgr, i do not know how to avoid this problem. i bought a nokia for my cell phone off of ebay. looks like a duck, smells like a duck, runs like a turkey. seems to hold about half the charge. in a cordless phone, almost any battery life will be adequate, so i would just buy off of ebay from someone with a high rating. Re: [CGUYS] cordless phone battery question
The charges should be a little smarter than that. Very often some cell phones come with two types of batteries. Standard or extended. Of course the extended can have anywhere from a few to double the Mah capacity. But you use the same charger with them. Stewart At 08:29 PM 1/28/2009, you wrote: Yes. Re: [CGUYS] cordless phone battery question
Yes. In fact, the higher the mah the better, as it signifies more power over time (milliamps in an hour). The only remote danger might be that the cell would draw too much current when charging, but I seriously doubt that would be a problem. Re: [CGUYS] cordless phone battery question
the Mah is milli amp hour. It determines how long it will run. (Actually it is how much amps it has, but higher amps means longer lasting.) It should and it will last a little longer.
