I got an external usb2 HDD as I got caught with my bvds around my ankles
recently and had2 replace my HDD which is bricked. I now have a 120gb hdd
internal and 120gb hdd external usb running fine after some initial trouble
with it replaced under warranty. So, the internal is ntfs with winxpsp2
NTFS is inherently more secure. All our externals are NTFS.

reformat ntfs first ...thoughts?
For use with Windows newer OS's, NTFS is the choice.
The reason external drives come formatted as fat32 now is to promote
compatibility/ read-ability with other operating systems. I can't
remember the tech particulars of this but maybe someone else can provide
them.

Or is it because MS will charge a royalty if you use NTFS?

formatted with NTFS. However, I recently changed
a 4 GB USB flash drive to NTFS, but the customize tab is not available.
