Re: [CGUYS] find tracking device on truck
Thanks for all the suggestions. I will get them to him just as soon as he removes the tracking software she put on his computer or get his work email address. My God that would have to cost her a fortune in texting charges, not to mention filling her inbox. Unless he's exaggerating about the whenever the truck moves part! From what he can tell it sent messages when truck was started and then every 30 minutes or so until it was parked at end destination. Since we live in Houston, Texas and he drives an hour or more each way to and from work he is finding out it was costing a fortune! My wife is welcome to check my location if she just wants to see me go to work every morning and back home every night. That's about what he was doing but my 21 year old niece totaled her car last summer and was using Dad's truck when she could. A 21 year old single female who likes clubs riding in Dad's truck burning Dad's tank of gas. I bet that kept my sister-in-law busy! She allegedly pulled a gun on him. That falls into the not exactly stable category. They should be able to commit her if they can document that. She is refusing psych evaluations that the DA has offered. She may end up doing more time than she thinks she can get. Her parents are refusing to bail her out but have been trying to get her mental help. The sensitivity of these signal counters can be lowered to facilitate the ability to help locate whatever is transmitting the signal in question. This sounds disturbingly similar to the argument that the government, any government should be able to learn all it wants about it's honest citizens to assist in the search for the dishonest ones. It seems to me that with a copy of the judgement, you could go to the police and ask them to find it. Christian At 05:43 08/02/2008, you wrote: My brother's wife placed a tracking device on his truck and he wants to find it and remove it. It texts her cell phone whenever the truck moves. Does anyone know how to find it or disable it? He can't ask her due he is the victim of domestic violence. She has been acting strange the last couple of years. She finally snapped last month and held a gun to his head for 20 minutes. Their preteen daughter was home at the time and locked herself in the bathroom and dialed 911. He would like to sell the truck but doesn't want to take the chance of her chasing the new owner around when she gets out of jail. I should add that the only reason he should care about this is if he's up to something. My wife is welcome to check my location if she just wants to see me go to work every morning and back home every night. I don't know about that, consider for example a trip to the florist next week on let's say the 14th, you might not want your spouse to know despite the product being purchased for her. I also note the troubling behavior and threat of death with a handgun, none of us would want someone armed with a gun and able to track us, unless of course you need rescuing by police. * == QUICK LIST-COMMAND REFERENCE - Put the following commands in == * == the body of an email send 'em to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] == * Join the list: SUBSCRIBE COMPUTERGUYS-L Your Name * Too much mail?
