Yep it does the same for me on the PC.

If you take safari there, and click on a picture link in one of the tweets,
does it open a new window or a new tab? On mine it's a new
 window...despite
prefs saying otherwise. FF, IE, Opera..Chrome..all open new tabs.

If you read the help file for preferences it seems to imply that it will
only open in a tab if the link doesn't specify a new window. I'm guessing
it is a bug in the software.

I recently put Snow on my MacBook Pro and I have not seen this behavior.
But maybe it only happens on some web sights. I would not use it if it did.

Re: [CGUYS] safari and new windows vs tabs

2010-01-30 Thread mike
That's where I am at...kinda makes safari too annoying to use if I never
know when I click a link if I'm getting a new window, new tab or reload on
the same page.

http://twitter.com/#search?q=%22Apple%20iPad%22%20OR%20%23Ipad

When you click on a twitpic link etc on that page, it opens a new tab in
safari?

As an example, this happens on any picture linked on twitter.

click on gear in upper right cornerPreferencesGeneral(at the bottom of

It took me twice through the preferences to find it and I knew it was there
