Thanks John, that did it - a 'git pull' and 'make' and ensuring conkeror
is launched from the same directory as the freshly build
conkeror-spawn-helper.
I had thought that the spawn-helper was only used for invoking the
external editor [1], but it seems to be general for /any/ external
application (note to self).
