The HLF (Heritage Lottery Fund) has awarded GBP3.3m to the Horniman Museum and Gardens in south east London to create a World Gallery, due to open in 2018. We are looking for two enthusiastic and experienced Conservators to assist with the conservation of anthropological objects for the new gallery. As well as a degree in Conservation, you'll have wide-ranging post-qualification experience, encompassing the care, documentation and treatment of both organic and inorganic anthropological objects in a museum environment. You will be working with both the Collections Conservation & Care Department and the Anthropology Redisplay project team. As the Redisplay project comes to an end and the gallery is prepared for opening to the public you will work mostly at the Museum, but partly at our Study Collections Centre, so the ability to work flexibly within teams and on your own, as well as working to tight project deadlines, is essential.
