I am a Masters student studying Preventive Conservation with Northumbria University, UK.
Research: Many collections aim to increase and broaden physical engagement with their special collections (e.g. research, demonstrations, display, lending) but handling presents one of the greatest risks of degradation. This survey aims to identify and quantify the various ways in which different organisations manage physical access to their collections, with the view to asking how such physical access could be better supported. Do you work for an organisation with a collection of historic books? Or more generally, is handling/direct access to your collections key to your organisation's outreach/values? If so, your feedback will be very valuable to this study. Below is a link to an electronic survey which takes approximately 3 minutes to complete. If you would like to take part in this study, or you know someone else who it could be relevant to, please click on or share the link. https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/Z2FR5KM [https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/collect/images/default_custom_meta_image.jpg]<https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/Z2FR5KM> Managing Preservation / Enabling Access<https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/Z2FR5KM> Take this survey powered by surveymonkey.com.
