The United States Postal Service is getting ready to issue a new stamp in
celebration of the upcoming solar eclipse. I have received my first inquiry
from a collector wondering if there will be any preservation concerns with this
new type of stamp. I have contacted USPS and the Thermochromic component is in
the ink only. Wikipedia offered an overview and obviously the material has been
around for decades and we have all used many items with this component. I am
wondering if any out there has had the opportunity to work on objects with this
element or have objects with this in their collections, especially paper based
material.

Once the stamp is issued I am sure there will be a few more inquires coming our
way. I will give the usual information but just want to be sure there is not
something I should be looking out for since we will be adding them to our
collection as well. Just trying to do my due diligence

Enjoy the solar eclipse if you are lucky enough to be in its path!
