Check out /usr/games/Maelstrom/Maelstrom-Scores.
If this is actually used by maelstrom, maybe it should be moved to /var/lib/games and
the sources patched...

If /usr/games/Maelstrom/Maelstrom-Scores is not a real high score file, it's perms
should not be 666 by default.

Ok. All I had to do was chmod g+s /usr/bin/Maelstrom and it worked.
/var/games/Maelstrom-Scores should be /var/lib/games/Maelstrom-Scores.
