Thanks for the tip, Leon. Setting OVERRIDE_JAVA_HOME
to
/usr/java/j2sdk1.4.2 got me over the GIJ hump.
Unfortunately, it died
about five hours into the build process with the

Instead it died exactly in the same line as before for
me... but i didn't clean all i'll try later :-(
