[CnD] hard boiled eggs
It has been some time since I did hard boiled eggs on the stove using boiling water, . Do not want to steam. Do I put the egg in the cold water, bring to a boil, cover & turn off the stove. How many minutes for it to be hard boiled? Thanks. Wendy ___ Cookinginthedark mailing list Cookinginthedark@acbradio.org http://acbradio.org/mailman/listinfo/cookinginthedark

[CnD] turkey breast
I will be alone for Thanksgiving & will roast a 3 pound, boneless turkey breast. How long do I thaw in the fridge? Last time I got a boneless turkey breast it seemed to come with a webbing, as if to hold it together. Do I keep this webbing on during cooking? The last time I heard it was not recommended to rinse poultry under running water. Is this still true? Likely more questions to come. Thanks. So my recent visit to the supermarket netted me a hybrid collyflower and crocolli instead of either of the two. I have a recipe for a creamy broccoli and cheese recipe, can I just substitute? Not sure why not, but thought I D ask. Re: [CnD] Difference between air fryer and air fryer oven?
I remember the creator of the Cooks Essential air fryer being on QVC. He said he is a buttons person & not into digital. Good for him & good for us. Hi Dana, I'm so happy you asked, as I just got the air fryer oven for my birthday. The oven I'd recommend is the Cooks Essentials oven from QVC. it has all the buttons individually set into the unit and is extremely accessible. French fry button, chicken button, two reheat buttons and so forth. easily able to memorize. You can toast, reheat, bake, and it even has a rotissery setting. very affordable, too. including shipping, it is $112.00 you can also do several foods at once. it comes with little shelves. - Original Message - From: "Dana Leet via Cookinginthedark" To: Cc: "Dana Leet" Sent: Friday, May 29, 2020 7:21 PM Subject: [CnD] Difference between air fryer and air fryer oven? > > Wonder if any of you have ever tried the air fryer oven? Re: [CnD] Buttermilk
A bread machine recipe calls for 4 Tbsp. powder buttermilk & 1 cup water. The water is the 3rd ingredient & the buttermilk is the 5th ingredient. If I use 1 cup fresh buttermilk, will the bread still turn out in the machine? Re: [CnD] Measuring tips
Interesting. I was told the proper way to measure flour was to scoop the flour into the cup, not to dip the cup into the flour. Anyone know? Wendy ___ Cookinginthedark mailing list Cookinginthedark@acbradio.org http://acbradio.org/mailman/listinfo/cookinginthedark

[CnD] BPA free?
Earlier I bought bamboo spoon & slotted spoons, both BPA free. Recently I bought a KitchenAid soup ladle for nonstick pans, & no idea if it is BPA free. Very little selection at the store.
