In theory it should work if you use the python scripting rather than the
GUI and/or scheme scripting (that is after setting http_proxy). So,
please try in the python scripting window:
get_ebi_pdb("your_pdb_code")
or
get_eds_pdb_and_mtz("your_pdb_code")

to download
files (pdb etc) because of our fire wall. Even though the variables http_proxy
and ftp_proxy
are set in the terminal environment, coot doesn't make use of them and gets
