Re: [COOT] coot error on mac osx Big Sur

2021-04-23 Thread Paula Salgado
Hi Martin and Paul

Somehow your replies had been buried in the junk folder... sorry.

In ccp4i2, I get that error and coot doesn't start.

After the most recent upgrade and updating Xquartz (2.8.0), I can now run coot
from the application list, seems to be fine. So it seems it's a ccp4i2 issue -
I'll report in ccp4i2 bb!

Thanks for your help!
Paula

Hi Paula,

Coot 0.9.5 via ccp4 7.1.013 is working fine for me on macos11.2.3 both from the
gui and from the cli. Which xquartz version are you using? For me at least,
coot via ccp4 works with quartz 2.8.0 and 2.8.1beta1.

That is not something that I've tried.

via ccp4i2 and get this error:

-ERROR- Ccoot_rebuild:56 Error in wrapper coot_rebuild 0.0:: External process
exited with exit code != 0
Process: coot >
-ERROR- Ccoot_rebuild:47 Error in wrapper coot_rebuild 0.0:: Error in checking
external process after completion

exit status and  code: 0 1

I am unfamilair with CCP4i2, so that doesn't mean much to me.

If I try to run from command line, nothing happens...

What kind of nothing are we talking about? Command not found? A window appears then disappears? The process
starts and returns an error? The process starts and doesn't return to a prompt? The process starts then
stops then returns to the prompt?

Paul.
