*UNIVERSAL Technologies is hiring  Senior Network Engineer with CCIE
Certified for long term contract at Brooklyn, NY.*



*Client:** FDNY, Fire Department of New York*

*Hours:** 35 hours/week*

*Start Date: January 14, 2019*

*Interview type: Telephonic round.*



*JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:-*

   - Perform LAN assessments-site surveys
   - Manage Cisco routers and switches including installations and
   configurations
   - Utilize network monitoring tools
   - Troubleshoot network, hardware and software issues
   - Microsoft Active Directory 2008/2012 R2 server administration,
   support, configuration and upgrades
   - Prepare system configurations and support (including as-built)
   documentation.
   - Will work closely with cross discipline teams in the development and
   review of technical specifications for the procurement of relevant IT
   systems and services, including the evaluation of vendor submissions
   solicited.
   - Provide quality control and oversight on IT infrastructure projects,
   ensuring that all implementations/changes to the data communications
   infrastructure adheres to established policies and procedures.
   - Work as part of multi-discipline teams to plan, define, and maintain
   standards and guidelines for efficiency, security, reuse, interoperability,
   consistency and integration.
   - Identifies system problems or design flaws and escalates issues to
   management team before serious performance impact occurs.
   - Define optimal performance levels for infrastructure components and
   ensures that all levels are met.  Provide oversight/supervision of City and
   third party/vendor resources during network infrastructure build-outs,
   changes, maintenance and troubleshooting.
   - Work closely with various IT and non-IT teams to resolve data systems
   related issues. Produce and maintain disaster recovery configurations for
   infrastructure, perform periodic disaster recovery tests (alone and as part
   of a team) and maintain disaster recovery documentation.



*MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE *

   - At least *10+ years’ experience in WAN/LAN infrastructure assessment,
   design, management documentation and security*
   - Firewall design and configuration
   - Extensive experience using network monitoring tools including
   SolarWinds
   - Cisco Router and switch management experience
   - *Must have strong Documentation & Design experience*
   - *Must have CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) Certification*
   - Knowledge of and extensive experience with wide-area/metropolitan area
   networks.
   - Must possess at minimum a Cisco CCNP (Cisco Certified Network
   Professional) certification.
   - Comprehension of modern network systems, cabling closet/data
   center/white space and network platforms.
   - Knowledge of what is necessary for physical and logical layer 4
   inter-connectivity.
   - The ability to translate client requirements into technical
   specifications and project plans.
   - A track record of successful vendor management across multiple vendors
   in various locations.
   - Total comprehension of all components and sub-components of data
   network infrastructures.
