*Cloud Engineer (Python Micro Services) * Westborough, MA Contract *Job Description: * Develop micro services on cloud to onboard new 3rd party services. Design and develop REST APIs to expand functionality. Work with platform architects on software and system optimizations, helping to identify and remove potential performance bottlenecks. Create productivity tools for third-party developers to self-service their own integrated solutions. Work with other software leads on developing production automation and unit test automation. Stay up to date on relevant technologies, plug into user groups and understand trends, opportunities that ensure we are using the best techniques and tools. Document the work you do, especially APIs that you create. *Qualifications (demonstrated Competence): * Expert knowledge of cloud coding languages such as Python. Experience with cloud technologies (Amazon Web Services preferred). Experience with API design/documentation tools such as RAML and Swagger/OpenAPI. Hands on experience using and developing REST APIs. Cloud-based distributed application scaling & data processing in the cloud. Agile software development methodology. *Highly Desirable but not required skills include: * Knowledge of automation tools such as Jenkins. Experience with Docker. Experience with Apigee or AWS API Gateway. Embedded/Cloud IoT application development a plus. Experience: 8 or more years working in software development. 3+ years developing, deploying and maintaining production web applications and/ or web API services. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent.
