Hello, my name is Tom Chambers and I am looking for information on the Chambers family.
I am new to the Co Tyrone site so I am looking for a little help. Based on information I have from relatives in the USA, it appears my great great grandfather came from Newtownstewart. We are traveling to Ireland in June, so I want to find where the family came from and maybe find some living relatives. If I have the correct location for my relatives in Ireland, I can provide information on my Chambers relatives in the USA. Dr Thomas Chambers (1823-1876) supposedly came from Newtownstewart. He sailed the ship John Stuart from Liverpool to New York in 1852 at age 29. He lived the rest of his life in New York City and worked as a Pharmacist (Druggist). In my cousin’s records, he thinks Thomas’s parents were John Chambers (1796-1867) and Martha (1794-1866). My lineage is: Dr Thomas Chambers (1823-1876) George Keller Chambers Sr George Keller Chambers Jr Dalton George Chambers Thomas Keller Chambers (1950) that’s me. Thanks for any help you can give me. I am using Ancestry.com and have had my DNA tested with them. By the way, I found a baptismal record for a Thomas Chambers 1823 in Clones, Monaghan, Ireland. Not sure if that is a match or not. Tom
