I am wondering if John Chambers, Lifford might be the father of my 3rd Great Grandfather, John Chambers (1796-1867) who lived in Newtownsteward. I keep trying to go back a little further, so this is just a conjecture. I read in the ebook version from the StrabaneMorningPost of the death of John Chambers, Lifford having died May 11, 1824. This would be in line with him being of the age to be the father of John Chambers, Newtownstewart.
So lots of conjecture here, but I thought I would let the audience weigh in on it. Thanks. I also found this in Ancestry.com Not sure if it is a match but it is the same birth year. Also the first daughter of John’s son Thomas was named Lydia Anna Martha Chambers. Her mother was Anna. Her grandmother was Martha. So it could be that Lydia was the great great grandmother. Anyway, if this is correct, then John’s father would also be John.
