The Vikings presence in Ireland was from around 795AD to 1000AD. So
well over 1000 years ago. Most genealogical DNA tests don’t go back
that far, or anywhere near it. Just a few generations really. If you
have some DNA from that part of Europe it probably comes from some
other much more recent
I got the 2% Norway heritage too. The rest is Ireland and Scotland. I wonder
if they just factor that in when they see Irish or Scottish heritage?

AND if your full-blooded brother or sister did the same test you could find
totally different results. Y-DNA and mtDNA are the only meaningful tests
which are reliable.

Ancestry in me, which I knew already. It also said I had 2% Norway heritage - I
thought they made a mistake.Then I realized, when I was in Ireland, 3 years
