Neil, The parish you are interested in is more commonly called Desertcreat. Unfortunately the RC baptism records for that parish only start in 1827, so you won’t find a record for someone born around 1777. That's a fairly common problem. Very few RC parishes have records for the 1700s. Few kept them then.
