Thanks for the reply It turns out the problem is that courier does
not do ANY query if the default domain value is not set, and there is no
@ symbol in the username All I had to do was set the default domain
and it all worked nicely. I haven't checked the change files to see if

As a work-around for the problems with using the @ symbol in some old
version of netscape, Eudora, etc - I have seen some service providers
use the $ symbols in place of @ (eg user$domain). I have tested this,
and courier rejects it without evening doing the mysql query Is
there
