Gentoo does have Courier; I've been running it for several years. Here are the
current stable versions in portage:

*  mail-mta/courier
  Latest version available: 0.65.2-r1

*  net-libs/courier-authlib
  Latest version available: 0.63.0-r1

*  net-mail/courier-imap
  Latest version available: 4.5.0

According to the Amazon EC2 FAQ, Amazon offers a choice of stock Linux
distros. They don't have a custom Linux distribution. If there are no
Courier packages in Gentoo, then Amazon won't have them.

Amazon does offer Debian as one of its choices, and Debian does have a
Courier port. So that's one option.

Another option is to switch to Fedora, and build Courier packages from the
tarball. It's fairly easy to build RPMs from my tarballs.

[courier-users] Courier MTA on Amazon / EC2

2012-11-09 Thread Thomas Seilund
Hi All,

I have run courier MTA, sqwebmail etc. on my home server for years. I
use a gentoo linux distribution so it is easy to install the mail server.

Now, I need to run the this mail server on an Amazon ec2 server.

Is there a package I can use to install the Courer MTA on the Amazon ec2
server?

I have checked the yum directory on the Amazon ec2 server but the mail
server is not part of the yum directory.

Thanks
