We use bathroom board from Home Depot or the like
Works great. Just use a good cleaner once in a while and it always goes back
to white!

Shower board works fine all by itself. It does get dingy with lots of use
and more so if you use harsh cleaners like windex or clorox. We make a
point to erase them every day and this helps.

Check out white melamine board at your local home center. While technically
not designed for a whiteboard application, we used it in our training room
on two walls (about 10 sheets worth, but they were like $10 a sheet). We
had a bit of problem with the dry erase marker not always coming off,
