I believe you should also include WebTools in the list of Java-8 enabled
projects: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=426884.

We've already had the discussion with the press regarding Java 8. I
still think that it belongs on the list. While I'd like to keep ECF on
this short list, I'm not sure how much hay we can make from it at
marketing level. Ian is the expert here, so he and I will make the
final decision together.

Objection. Frankly...not to put too fine a point on it...I don't
really believe in the EF/marketing's judgment here. ECF has been an EF
project for almost 10 years now, and I think it's completely fair to say
that ECF has received little to no promotion by EF marketing during that
entire time. Further, it remains an ongoing marketing battle for RT
projects like ECF to prove that they are relevant not only to the work
on Java8 (which it clearly is), but also completely relevant to IoT as
well (which it also clearly is...along with Equinox and probably others).

And...ECF is under consideration as the reference implementation for the
R6 OSGi Remote Services/Remote Service Admin specifications...which is
also relevant to the 'cloud' and IoT directions. This cannot be
announced...as I would prefer to...because the choice has not yet been
made and OSGi won't be completing the choice in time for Luna.

Objection.
