<background> Currently working for a client on a long term contract. The client is a government agency. The contract is to help one of their legacy/mainframe/COBOL teams come up to speed on HTML/CSS/JavaScript/OO/XML/Java/J2EE. Original RFP included trainer, training, and materials. Due to non-disclosure and proprietary clauses, I was unable to bring materials to this assignment. I've been lobbying to get permission to purchase training materials that I can enhance specifically for the project by adding auxiliary materials and handouts. So far, I've had to reinvent the HTML world, but late Friday I received permission to "explore" purchasing some or all of the rest of the materials. The first and most immediate need is CSS training material. JavaScript will be next and is only mildly immediate. </background> <requirement> I need to find, review, recommend, and get the agency to purchase good CSS training materials on an immediate basis. [Believe it or not this is possible!] The CSS training begins in 9 days (Jan 29, 2007). If you have training materials that meets some/most/all of the following criteria please respond on an immediate basis. If I cannot find materials, then I will have to use my reinvention of CSS but I would prefer to have materials already done by one of the experts/gurus that are likely part of this list. </requirement> <criteria> English. Beneficial if materials were also published via a known distributor/publisher like Amazon, BN, Prentice Hall, PeachPit, O'Reilly etc, as long as we can obtain it quickly. If not, then downloadable, if possible - we can print, although we would prefer not to. Not just on-line or in a software program - we need it in printed form [sorry, rules]. Price - as low as possible of course. Size - only relevant if we have to print. </criteria> <sidenote> If you have already published a book (I'm aware of some books written by luminaries like EricM, MollyH, DaveS, JeffreyZ, JohnA, PatrickG, etc) and you think that it is a good training book that covers off all the basics of CSS plus, <strong>PLEASE</strong> contact me at your earliest convenience. </sidenote> If members of this list have strong opinions/suggestions please feel free to let me know.
