Hi, I'm a newbie to CSS design and trying to solve a problem. If anyone can point me to tutorial on doing what I describe below I'd be so appreciative. I've tried to search google but it's a bit hard to describe to google exactly what I'm trying to do.
If what I want to do is possible, but no good resources exist, I'd be happy to pay someone to help out (just contact me first - I don't want anyone being angry if they write up a big how-to and expect to get paid without any prior conversation!) Here's the problem : I have a regular HTML <ul> style list. I want to style the list such that some items are not shown up immediatly. I know this part is pretty easy and have seen several tutorials on doing this sort of thing (ie. your typical list based menu's and all that). Here's the part that I'm not sure of, is there a good method to have list members (<li></li>) number x and beyond be hidden where I'm specifiying a different value for x for each page for different users? Here's an example of how I would have done it using a database / backend-heavy design : user logs in i pull out their value (x) select just items 1-x and display those items ONLY. what i want to do instead is: user logs in i pull out their value from the db i display ALL items in the list but pass in a value to the page to hide items x and above. I am hoping that someone can let me know if this is reasonably possible or not. Thanks in advance. ______________________________________________________________________ css-discuss [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.css-discuss.org/mailman/listinfo/css-d List wiki/FAQ -- http://css-discuss.incutio.com/ Supported by evolt.org -- http://www.evolt.org/help_support_evolt/
