Thanks to Tom, Roger, and David for testing. The filter proved useless as Safari 1.3 won't accept percentage no-repeat percentage, similar to Opera. Safari computes 0.995% correctly, though. IE and Mozilla accept this splitting. So within this test, there is actually no way to serve 95.5% to Safari, but not to Opera. (The exponential notation could be part of an IE hack, but won't validate.) Philippe reported a similar problem with floating point percentages on margins (Op8b, OS X 10.3.9). Thanks.
