Oops - I thought I'd address this...
turns out that tutorial has a bitty boo-boo (which I intend to fix right
now). IE 7 renders that code, as-is, as a bit broken. (Thanks to Mark
for pointing this out to me offlist). Turns out the IE conditional
comment doesn't need to be used for IE7, as
