OK folks, enough is enough. Opinions about how browsers should handle zooming and text-resizing are not what this list exists for.
Nor does the list exist for opinions about whether to use scalable or fixed sizes. Questions and help about how to achieve scalable or fixed solutions on the other hand are very much the point of this list. I think Trevor should have enough brainfood to be getting on with, but if anyone does have any practical suggestions as to how to improve his layout, then that would be fabulous.
