I have been removed from 2 lists because my views were considered "disruptive".
This word disruptive is a catch-all term that can mean whatever a list owner wants
it to mean.
I think you are quite right in your appraisal of the danger here.

The question is obvious rhetorical. Of course they can be ignored. If they are
ignored, they will eventually go away. This is the better solution.
