Ed Corrigan (10:00) Israeli teens refuse to serve in army of 'terror' September, 05 2001 Sixty-two Israeli teens from around the country said this morning they will refuse to serve in the IDF. In a letter to Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, the group wrote they cannot agree to be drafted to an army they say is committing crimes in the territories. The teens said they believe the IDF is participating in terrorist operations against Palestinian targets, and that Israeli security can only be obtained via diplomatic efforts. Education Minister Limor Livnat said in response that the group represents a small population of youth which does not know how to differentiate between victim and attacker, Army Radio reported.
